Consistency:
A top quality stud is proven by the consistency in the overall quality he produces.  Locota very consistently passes his best qualities on to his offspring.  They are born sound, healthy, typey, energetic and robust, with excellent conformation, heavy bones, good bites, and total coverage.  Their fleeces have an exceptionally soft handle, density, crimp, luster and color.  Their temperaments are  wonderful and their presence is eye-catching.  We searched the country  for a stud with a truly great track record and were very fortunate to have acquired Locota (Thanks again to Antoinette and Linda!).   His progeny are strong sellers at auction, show winners and sell "off the farm" because  they are true to type! There is a place for Locota's genetics in every quality  breeding program.

Quality:
From the Malaquito region of Peru, Locota is healthy, vigorous and robust.  He has a level topline, a deep and wide chest, correct legs, very large testicles, a strong libido and a commanding presence.  Locota has a dense, crimpy, lustrus, light fawn roan very soft, vicuna-style fleece with excellent fiber coverage from  his spear-shaped ears and full topknot, to his straight, black toenails.  Locota is an experienced and excellent breeder settling most females  with one breeding.  Most of his crias have average birthweights which makes him an excellent choice for first time and petite dams.

Comments:
"Our 2001 Locota crias, Snowy Truffles and Megabuck Mink, both out of dams with multiple award winning fleeces, are exactly what we expected. Both are healthy, robust and spunky with very soft, dense, crimpy fleeces, full coverage and correct conformation. The proof of a successful breeding program is one that produces offspring that are better than the sire and dam and that's what we've got...pure alpaca synergism! - Laura Coussens

"[Sachi's] fleece is extremely soft, with nice crimp...much luster, wonderful coverage, conformation is good and a perfect bite." - Deb Hill,
Cloud Dancer Alpacas (AZ)

"...she (Aurora) is the most regal animal I have ever seen, with a demeanor to match, so confident and in control." - Caroline Mixon,
Carodel Alpacas (GA)

"Congratulations on your purchase of Locota! He has produced some outstanding offspring, ...we, are proud to be among his benefactors" On Esprit, "Excellent conformation; presence is outstanding; good milker; excellent mother." - Kim Tollers and Linda Olver,
Dougherty Creek Farm (WI)

About Golden Peruvian Buckner (Born 5/27/00), "His fiber and density is great. We are very pleased with him!" - Doug and Denise Caldwell,
A.L. Paca's Farms (OH)

[Mecca (Out of 5P Escada) is very nice, and her full sister, Phoebe Snow, is super...] - Tracy Benedict, Mi Amigos Alpacas (CO)
