The construction method I chose for this particular house is what is known as the "butt and pass". Once you have replaced your aesthetic preferences and  preconceived notions with a little basic knowledge it becomes the clear choice for log house building!. That said, I have a deep love and appreciation for the simplicity of log homes and their unique ability to make one feel at ease. I have been trained in all methods of log house construction and feel that they all shine in their own way!

On this first page we will take a short picture tour of one of the log homes I built in N.W. Washington after finishing the apprenticeship program taught by DeWell  F Ellsworth (Skip) at the  Log House Builders Association of North America  in Monroe WA. This course is no longer offered but they do still have a comprehensive  weekend overvue program available.
