I decided to rig the old rudders on the craft just to get the testing going. If the craft works well I will go ahead and fabricate a new larger set. Heck maybe it will be good enough and I won't bother :-) The new prop/fan is done and ready to be mounted just as soon as I make sure my electrical wiring works as planned. I should be ready for a yard test very soon, I think I am pretty much down to building a guard and figuring out how to mount a fuel tank.

How she looks today

The hull in the begining

Above right: After many hours of chasing high and low spots around with putty I have the second coat of glass going on. As you can see I have blue pigment mixed in with the epoxy, this is a greatr help in seeing where you have been and bringing the low spots into focus so I can fiddle with them some more. To the right: is where I gave up and called it "good enough for who it's for" hehehe.

Above left: I have poured the duct foam and flattened it with this handy sanding block I made for shaping rudders. What it is made from is two sticks 3/4/ by 2 with a length of non skid tape applied. To the right: the fiberglassing begins.

At this point I realized that I should have started a new craft! but pressed on!

The "Lil" get's another toatal rebuild!

I will try and add more to this page soon as time permits.

We moved the Lil into the destruction zone And started the demolition. We have increased the size of the duct and prop and will be stepping up the horse power a bit, how much will depend on what engine make it's self available to play with.

The old small rudders proved to be grossly inadequate! I have now started to make a new larger set and at my current rate of getting things done on the craft should have them on sometime next year! heh.
On the right is what she looks like today. The initial test flight went pretty good other than the steering issue. We will try a test flight on the water sometime in the years to come.
